Welcome to the Salt Spring Island Garden Club!
The Salt Spring Garden Club is a very active club of about 380 members that fosters the art of gardening in our special Mediterranean northwest coastal climate. The Club offers:
- monthly meetings with stimulating speakers
- socials
- garden tours
- plant sales
- advice from Mentor Gardeners
- courses & workshops
- special interest groups
- an extensive lending Library
- a monthly newsletter (The Grapevine).
Be sure to check out the “Club Meetings” tab for information on the upcoming speaker at our club meeting. This is open to all members who have paid for their annual membership dues. If you are considering joining, you can ‘drop in’ at a club meeting for $5.
Please visit the Membership tab for information on how to register and pay. A family membership costs $35; a single membership is $25. Membership in the club is a great deal, given the excellent newsletter, The Grapevine, along with access to the Grapevine, and the monthly speaker presentations. Our lending library has up-to-date garden books and our mentor gardeners at the club meetings will be able to answer any of your plant-related questions.
This website is also where you can find the Grapevine Archive, along with the Club Meeting Presentations and of course all of the information you need on upcoming workshops, special events and other club activities.
Background
The Salt Spring Island Garden Club, formed in 1954 as the Salt Spring Island Chrysanthemum Society, was renamed in 1966 as gardening interests diversified.
