Request for Silent Auction Items for the AGM

At our annual AGM on November 22, we are having both a live auction consisting only of plants and a silent auction of plants and garden-related items. We are looking for donations for this Silent Auction.

If you have a small plant or garden-related item that you’ve wanted to donate but it’s too nice for the “Treasures” Table at the Plant Sales, this is the time to bring it! Donate and bring items that you would love to receive as a gift.

Possible items you could donate:

• high-quality garden tools
• art of the garden such as photographs and paintings
• art for the garden such as sculptures, bird baths, and items to hang on the fence
• bird-feeding related items such as seed feeders and hummingbird feeders
• a basket of produce from your garden such as winter fruit and nuts
• a basket of preserves from your garden
• jars of dried beans that would be great for soup
• a selection of favourite seeds that you’ve saved
• beautiful vases and plant pots
• garden-themed decorative items
• garden-themed jewellery
• recent cookbooks for fruits and vegetables

For example, I will be bringing some garden-themed jewellery that I bought at the Books & Bling sale, a vintage copper and brass indoor watering can, and a gardening basket which includes a linen pinafore apron.

There is a Silent Auction bid sheet below that you can print out, fill out the top part, and bring with your item to the AGM on November 22. Blank forms will be available at the meeting as well. If you have an item to donate but are unable to come to the AGM, contact me and we can meet up so that you can give it to me.

If you are bringing a plant that is currently dormant, please bring a picture of the plant. As always, we will need help at the AGM itself, setting up the auction tables and bid sheets, monitoring the bidding, and matching up the winning bidders with their purchases.
